Are you stealing PDA?

So, I'm hearing that there are people in other countries (namely, Mexico) selling clothing with my Pole Dancing Adventures artwork on it and saying that I gave permission for it. THAT IS FALSE!!

I have NEVER, NEVER, NEVER given permission for my work to be sold anywhere other than in my online store. (http://www.cafepress.com/poledancingadventures)  If you see someone profiting from my work, please notify me.

TELL THEM TO STOP and DON'T BUY IT!

My work is legally copyrighted so it is ILLEGAL to steal it! It's a shame that there are people out there who are so dishonest to do such a thing.

I create this comic because I love it. I make a little bit of money from print and merch sales. And I am motivated to keep going when I hear your enthusiasm! But when I hear of someone doing something so dirty as stealing my work,  I may as well just shut this down.

You think it's no big deal... I spend hours of LOVE on this. I'm so upset at whoever is doing this...

Thanks for letting me rant.

Dígales PARA DETENER O NO LO COMPRE!

  2. I'm from Mexico too, I don't know about the clothes but I saw one of your draws (without the copyright) in the Facebook page of pole dance fitness academy Cancún. It's sad that there is people stealing your work.

  4. That's pretty shitty..
In academic writing and research, we constantly use other people's work - to justify what we're doing, to clarify, to expand on.. but always, always reference..
Referencing is free advertising for the original author..
It's also a big 'thank you' to the author for doing the work so that you don't have to..
Art work is the same, it's intellectual property. And it's your time and your skill. When someone profits from your work, by stealing it.. well it's very sad to say least.
Unfortunate to say, but there are methods you can use to block people lifting imagery from your websites. It might be something you should look into..

  5. if you're so upset about this, & you've legally copyrighted your work, just sue them :)

    1. Just because you sue someone doesn't actually mean you'll receive a dime, even if you do win. Plus, it costs money to file a law suit, pay for an attorney, go to court, etc. It sucks but it's how it is.
